2009 WCL Record: 20-28
Pro to Watch: Christian Scholl (Green River CC), Pitcher, Los Angeles Angels
Christian Scholl, selected in the 8th round of the 2008 MLB draft by the Angels, turned in his second solid pro season as the right-hander from Tacoma went 3-2 over 45 appearances and posted a 3.42 ERA for the Cedar Rapids Kernels of the Midwest League. Scholl pitched for Kitsap in 2007 and went 2-0 with a 2.51 ERA.
Big Man on Campus: Brad Propst, Pitcher, Oklahoma State
Propst, formerly an infielder, emerged as the BlueJackets ace after an impressive sophomore year at Oklahoma State where he made 15 relief appearances and held opponents to a paltry .210 batting average while posting a 2.20 ERA. Brad led the West Coast League in strikeouts with 55 and was named second-team All-WCL. The junior right-hander from Amarillo, Texas was rated the #19 prospect in the WCL by Perfect Game Crosschecker and should vie for a starting role with the Cowboys in 2010.
