Pro to Watch: Chris Davis (Navarro College), Infielder, Texas Rangers

Chris Davis followed his powerful rookie season with the Rangers with an impressive sophomore campaign. The native Texan blasted 21 hone runs and collected 59 RBI while hitting .231 over 113 games and 391 at bats. Selected in the 5th round of the 2006 MLB draft by Texas, Chris starred for the Falcons in 2005 as he led Kelowna in hitting (.331), home runs (5) and RBI (29).

Big Man on Campus: James Paxton, Pitcher, Kentucky

Last spring, Paxton struck out 115 batters over 78 1/3 innings pitched. The southpaw's 13.2 strikeouts per nine innings was the third highest in Division I baseball. James was a supplemental 1st round pick of Toronto in the 2009 MLB draft, but elected to return for his senior season. Paxton is rated the #7 collegiate prospect for the 2010 MLB draft by Baseball America. Paxton pitched for Kelowna in 2007 and led the West Coast League in strikeouts.with 62.
