Wenatchee ace Reedy Berg of Gonzaga earned two postseason wins for the WCL Champion AppleSox, both road starts. Berg tossed eight innings of one-hit ball vs. Kelowna to earn the win in the East Divisional Series opener at Elks Stadium. The southpaw from Yakima, Washington did not walk a single batter and struck out 3 as Wenatchee beat the host Falcons 2-0. Wenatchee went on to sweep Kelowna and advance to the WCL Championship Series vs. Corvallis. Berg followed his stellar performance at Kelowna with another road masterpiece as the junior-to be at Gonzaga stifled the Knights for seven innings at Goss Stadium to earn the 4-2 championship clinching victory. Reedy allowed only four hits and one run while striking out 6, and for a second straight start did not walk a batter. For the postseason, Berg tossed 15 innings, allowed only five hits and one run while walking none and striking out 9. This past spring, Berg went 4-4 with a 5.44 ERA over 17 appearances and 4 starts for Gonzaga. This summer, Reedy made 11 appearances and 7 starts and went 3-2 with a 1.88 ERA while walking 9 and striking out 34 over 43 innings pitched for the AppleSox.
