Corvallis shortstop Richie Jimenez of Riverside CC leads league in hitting for #4 ranked Knights

Corvallis Knights shortstop Richie Jimenez, a junior-to be at UNLV of the Mountain West Conference, went 14-for-29 to improve his league-leading batting average to .447. Jimenez also leads the West Coast League in hits with 38.

Richie's bat and glove helped Corvallis go 5-1 on the week and stay in first place in the WCL West.

Jimenez has collected 75 assists and is fielding at a .963 clip.

Corvallis (27-5, 21-5) is currently ranked #4 in a summer college baseball national poll released by Perfect Game Crosschecker.

This past spring, Richie led Riverside City College in hitting with a .347 average and earned All-Orange Empire Conference honors.
