NWAACC Player of the Year Taylor Ard of Mt. Hood CC shines for Corvallis Knights

First baseman Taylor Ard of Mt. Hood CC, a freshman from Brush Prairie, Washington, continued his torrid hitting in the West Coast League for the Corvallis Knights batting .542 (13-for-24) with four doubles and 10 RBI for the week.

The right-handed hitting slugger's offensive exploits earned Ard this summer's first WCL Player of the Week honors (for June 5-14). Ard hit a sizzling .496 with 11 home runs and 45 RBI this past spring at Mt. Hood CC and was named NWAACC Player of the Year.

Taylor recently signed with Oregon State of the Pac-10.
