DJ Lidyard

OSU Beaver-to be DJ Lidyard of Wenatchee tosses no-hitter while striking out 16 at Moses Lake

WCCBL All-Star Game co-MVP DJ Lidyard of Wenatchee tossed a complete game no-hit shutout at the Moses Lake Pirates Wednesday, July 19 at Larson Field in Moses Lake. Lidyard allowed only two baserunners, both walks, and struck out 16 Pirates as the Sox beat the Bucs 2-0. Lidyard improved his record to 4-1, increased his league leading strikeout total to 71 and lowered his ERA to 1.70.

Lidyard's no-hitter was the league's second as his AppleSox teammate Clayton Mortenson of Gonzaga twirled a combined no-hitter last summer for the Sox vs. Kelowna. In that game, Mortenson and Quinn LeSage gave up two runs, but no hits.

DJ was selected in this year's MLB June draft by the Milwaukee Brewers in the 43rd round. If Lidyard does not sign, he will join the NCAA National Champion Oregon State Beavers next fall. This past spring, DJ Lidyard earned First-Team All-NWAACC honors for Lower Columbia College. Last summer, Lidyard pitched for the Bellingham Bells and was named First-Team All-WCCBL.
